Eligible experience includes at least four years of issuing Shariah rulings in fiqh, preferably fiqh-ul-muamalat, including the period of Takhassus-fil-Ifta. Alternatively, applicants may qualify through at least five years of teaching, research or training in Islamic financial services; work in relevant departments of an institution offering Islamic financial services; or work in the relevant department of a banking, securities, insurance or Takaful regulator. A combination of eligible experience is acceptable.
Candidates must also meet the advertised integrity and soundness conditions. These include no association with illegal activities relating to insurance, Takaful, fund management or banking, and no default in payments owed to financial institutions or taxes.
